The board of partners is a group of three individuals focused on ensuring the organization’s mission is carried out while sharing EPP’s accomplishments and goals to the public. We would also like to recognize here our Executive Director, Lee Dudley, and our Director of Development, Maddie Stansell.
Steve Tannenbaum – Board Treasurer – Partner since 2009
Steve is the owner of Tannenbaum Consulting, LLC and has been a CPA for 30 years. He assists EPP in their financial needs and has been a board member for the past six years. Steve owns Dante, a gray Holsteiner that he competes with in the jumper ring. Steve has competed all over Colorado under the tutelage of Celia Thomas of Cross the Meadows Farm.
Shelly Houston – Chairman of the Board – Partner since 2011
Shelly grew up in the New Mexico area showing Arabian horses in a variety of events. She is an accomplished collegiate equestrian judge. Shelly has been involved with EPP since its inception and a board member since 2011. Shelly is an account manager for AmeriFund.
Kirstine Valencia – Partner since 2013
Kirstine is the primary fundraiser for EPP. She has been on the board for the past two years. Kirstine is a full-time horse show mom to her daughter Taylor Valencia—an accomplished medal rider in Colorado. Kirstine is a road warrior, sweat wiper, boot polisher and all around support staff for all the people in her life—especially EPP!
Lee Dudley – Executive Director
Lee created Equine Partnership Program in 2007 on shoe-string budget using her own horses in her backyard. She has grown the organization from two horses and five clients to seven horses and twenty clients per week. She has also expanded the company to include two additional therapists and has rescued and rehabilitated ten horses to date. Although she is not on the Board of Directors, she is a crucial part of EPP and we are so happy to have her as the Executive Director and one of the Mental Health Therapists serving EPP.
Maddie Stansell – Director of Development
Maddie Stansell is an entrepreneur, photographer, painter, and avid horse lover. Maddie specializes in fundraising, internal and external communications, marketing and branding strategy, public relations, graphic and web design, and proposal development. Maddie has ridden and trained horses for over 25 years, with a focus on developing horses slowly and correctly. When she isn’t glued to a computer screen, Maddie rides her four-year-old sport horse Baloo, hangs out with her two corgis, and paints. Although not on the Board, we wanted to recognize Maddie for her work with EPP as the Director of Development.
